Diving Save
Shane narrowly avoids crossing Pixi, Fox takes one for the team… Well at least Fox seems to be back in the swing of things, though he really should have warned Shane ahead of time.
This comic was a lot of fun to draw, but that might just be because it was so simple compared to the last one! Still, I like how Pixi’s footpad turned out, kicking the door shut, and generally how she looks in the comic. I think she’s due for another colour change, but I’m getting better at emphasizing the more exaggerated lower body (the rabbit portion).
Plans have been made for upcoming comics, and many plans have been changed… Still, I hope you like where things are going!
I am liking Pixi even more. Although rabbits aren’t the submissive creatures of tales. Rabbits will kick the heck outta you. Gotta respect that. So as a Cabbit, Pixi has two levels of defense, her rabbit defenses and her cat defenses. Now if the rabbit foot has cat claws…
She does indeed. Nothing like a rabbit powered kick with cat claws… Fox is not exaggerating when he calls her “dangerous!”
If he had said rabbit instead, would her reaction have been just as violent? Is her issue with actually being part rabbit, or just the connotation of being called bunny? The word bunny has an association with cute, cuddly, defenseless, etc… where the word rabbit does not have those same associations. Or does she just dislike looking rabbit-like at all, period?
You’re spot on! It’s very much the “bunny” thing. “Oh my, a rabbit” or “zounds, A hare!” would get a totally different reaction! She despises the “cute li’ll bunny” or even the sexualized connotations. (Not that she doesn’t enjoy the occasional sexualization, just that she’d rather do it on her terms.) It’s something like somebody always being called “chick” or “boy.”
