Karabear – Warm Welcome
The first proper cameo!
Say hi to The Runner and Immokalee from Karabear.
It seems that Fox and Kitty have wandered into something already in progress. Perhaps it is to be expected, when you show up without an invitation.
Ok, so there’s going to be a lot of “art” this week that I’m not going to be super proud of. I don’t like drawing humans, but I’m going to do my level best, all apologies to the original comics creators.
I’m pretty happy, actually, with how everybody turned out in panels two and three. I think that the body language between Kitty and Fox says more than the words do. Still, I had a really hard time doing anything dynamic in panel 2. Sorry.
This is just the begining though! The Halloween Crossover Cameo Caper continues through the month!
Cool. My characters cameo here, too. I do love the Runner’s halted speech. It’s due to the fact that English is still so new to him. Of course, I may want to note about the Swimmer (Immookallee)’s outfit for future reference: for one, she goes barefoot, but also that her belt is red with a yellow buckle that has a red S on it (which I haven’t really shown prominently in the Caper, so I understand with that). I wonder when the next page will be up, too. I know I update the Swimmer and Runner bits on Thursdays, so you may have an update in before I get one around. Still, there’s nothing stopping me from putting my update inbetween this one and the next. It all goes to how everything works out.
And your human-drawing skills are still fine. At least the Swimmer is the only human you had to put on the page (considering the Runner is Flimerran and is very fish-like). After all, he wears the water tanks because he can’t breathe air. But the Swimmer can be difficult to draw because she has the most “superheroine”-like build, being tall and thin.
As to the content of the page at hand: I think my favorite bit is the “Three-Laws Compliant” remark. It’s pretty funny, and nicely geeky, too, and geeky humor is fun.
Is it just me or does Fox usually end up running? 😀
Hmm… That does seem to be a theme… He’s just not as we’ll prepared for some of these extremities I guess… Also not smart enough to stop and talk it out when she should. ^.^
But still… smart enough to know when to run 🙂
We’ll make a Rincewind out of him yet!
